About the Program...

The Connecticut Rivers Council will once again offer the ATV Safety Institute program for the season in morning and afternoon sessions at Summer Camp. Minimum age for participants is fourteen (14+) by the start of the week. Scouts will take part in the sixteen lessons of the ASI course, plus have opportunity for more riding and introduction to TreadLightly! Scouts need to bring long-sleeve shirt/jacket to wear, long pants, boots that cover their ankles, and gloves. Class-size limits are imposed by age and the size of vehicles we'll have. Please note: ATV use remains unauthorized for use at the unit level—these programs may only be operated at the council level. National BSA Article on the ATV Program: Scout Camps Add High-Octane Options.

The E-Course and TWO of these documents need to be signed by parents and brought to camp: 

• All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Participation and Hold Harmless Agreement
• ASI ATV Waiver ​
• Log on to the ASI website and take the e "E-Course" before coming to camp and bring your completed certificate to camp with you. More information about "E-Course" can be found HERE. 

To Participate: 

To be eligible to participate in the A.T.V. Program Scouts must:

• Be at least 14 years old.
• Bring: Long pants (blue jean or heavy cotton preferred), long sleeve shirt, sturdy boots that cover the ankle & gloves. 
• Have a parent or guardian sign a Hold Harmless Agreement to participate in the A.T.V. program.
• Sign up for a Week of Summer Camp with your Troop or as a Thunderbird! 
• Enroll in a Session during the week you are at camp using BlackPug.
